I'm Gabriel, a Software Engineer specialized in frontend development, but I also have strong knowledge in backend development. I'm currently working at Localiza&Co, a company that provides car rental services in South America.
I'm from Brazil, and I'm passionate about technology, gaming, and sports. I played basketball in high school, and lately, football for about 8 years. I also love to play video games, and I'm a big fan of a lot of genres, but I'm mostly into FPS, puzzle, and RPG games.
My career in programming started back in 2018, when I enrolled in a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I learned a lot of things and programming languages during the course, but I fell for JavaScript. I started to learn React in 2019, and I've been using it ever since. I also have experience with Node.js, Next.js, Typescript, and I'm currently thinking about learning another backend language to improve my skills.
Professional Experience
My main responsibilities are to develop and maintain the frontend of a new portal website for wholesale customers. I also worked on a team that was responsible for developing a mobile app for car check-ups, exclusive to the company's employees.
I worked on developing a platform that offered online event hosting. I was responsible for developing the frontend of the platform, but I also worked on the backend, using Node.js, Serverless, and AWS. My main responsibilities were developing new features, fixing bugs, and maintaining the codebase.
After my second year, I was promoted to principal frontend developer, as I was the oldest and most experienced developer in the team. I led the frontend team, and I was responsible for creating solutions, defining the architecture, and mentoring the other developers, as we were developing a second version of the platform.
